Best Practices

BSOLS has identified and institutionalised the following Best Practices as part of its NAAC Criterion VII commitment:

Best Practice 1: Integrated Legal Aid Clinic

Goal: Bridging the gap between legal education and access to justice for the underprivileged.

Context: The Legal Aid Clinic at BSOLS has been functioning since 2012, where students under faculty supervision provide free legal services to economically weaker sections of society. Over 500 cases are handled annually, covering areas such as domestic violence, labour disputes, consumer rights, and property matters.

Outcomes: Enhanced practical skills among students; 500+ underprivileged individuals served annually; recognised by the Kerala State Legal Services Authority.

Best Practice 2: Structured Moot Court Training Programme

Goal: Developing advocacy skills and professional competence through systematic moot court training from the first year of study.

Context: A year-round Moot Court Training Programme was institutionalised in 2015 with dedicated faculty coaches, a purpose-built moot court hall, and a structured progression from intra-college rounds to state and national competitions.

Outcomes: BSOLS teams have won 12+ state and national moot court competitions since 2015; 100% final-year students participate in at least one moot court competition.
